PARTNER

Margaret’s practice encompasses a broad range of civil and employment litigation. She provides individuals with strategic legal advice at every stage of their career. Margaret’s primary focus is the successful resolution of your matter- on your terms.

Margaret’s area of focus is employment law and she regularly advises employees on a variety of legal matters from the negotiation of employment offers to wrongful terminations, constructive dismissals, human rights disputes and workplace sexual harassment and assault claims.

Margaret also advises companies on employment-related matters, including compliance with applicable workplace laws as well as the drafting and negotiation of employment agreements for prospective candidates.

Margaret will work to get you the result you are looking for in the most efficient manner possible and supports the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in order to do so. Margaret recognizes however, that some matters may only be resolved through formal legal processes and has experience appearing before masters and judges in the Ontario Superior Court.

Before joining our firm, Margaret practiced as an employment lawyer and litigator at a preeminent litigation boutique in downtown Toronto.

Margaret obtained her J.D. from Queen’s University in 2009 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2010.
Margaret volunteers with Pro Bono Law Ontario (PBLO) and is a committee member of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).

Margaret has been active with The Advocates’ Society Labour & Employment Group since 2018. In 2021, she was appointed Chair of the Advocates’ Society Labour & Employment Practice Group for the 2021-2022 term.
