Jessica Buckerfield is an associate lawyer at KBA Partners LLP, representing clients in matters related to their careers.
Jessica articled with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General in the Ministry of Transportation’s Legal Services Branch, gaining exposure to a wide range of matters including contractual matters, litigation, prosecutions, procurement, conflicts of interest, and freedom of information. During her articling term, she gained in-depth experience in contract drafting, review, and analysis, and regularly appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice as a provincial prosecutor. Jessica further gained litigation experience working for an insurance defence litigation boutique in downtown Toronto the summer after her first year of law school.
Jessica is dedicated to carefully and compassionately listening to clients and has a genuine interest in their careers and goals. She is committed to effectively investigating and clearly communicating available legal options and will draw on the collective experience of KBA Partners LLP to provide advice and adopt strategies which are efficient, effective, and driven by clients’ immediate and long-term objectives.
Jessica completed her J.D. at Western University’s Faculty of Law, where she was recognized for her high academic standing and earned several awards for academic achievement and community involvement. As a law student, Jessica’s volunteer engagement included serving on Western Law’s Community Outreach Committee, Distinguished Speakers Committee, and Wellness Committee, and teaching employment law seminars through Pro Bono Students Canada. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018 and is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association.
